Home and business NBN plans look similar on a comparison site. They behave nothing alike the moment a team is on it.
Downloads are bursty and forgiving. Uploads are constant and shared.
A residential 100/20 plan gives you 20 Mbps of upload, split across every video call, every cloud backup and every file anyone sends. Business Fast gives you 40 Mbps up on the same download speed. That one number explains why calls freeze at 11am and never at 7pm.

Which tier, honestly
- 1–5 people — Business Fast 100/40Forty megabits of upload carries five concurrent video meetings comfortably. Going higher buys headroom you won’t touch.
- 5–20 people — Superfast 250/100Where upload starts to bite: overlapping calls, backups running during the day, larger transfers. The 100 up is the real upgrade, not the 250 down.
- 20–50 people — Turbofast 500/200Multiple teams, video-heavy work, hosted phones and continuous sync. Also where a service level stops being optional.
Where we’ll talk you down
If your upload sits under 20% utilisation at peak, a higher tier changes nothing you can feel. We’d rather move you down and keep you than sell you headroom you never use.
Check the address, not the brochure
Available speeds depend on the technology at your building. FTTP can reach the top tiers; FTTN often can’t, whatever you pay. HFC and fixed wireless behave differently again, and two shops on the same street can have different options.
