What is BizTel?
BizTel is Comstel ICT's small-business phone system, powered by Ericsson-LG iPECS cloud telephony. It's sold as 7 pre-configured bundles ($25-$60 per user per month) that include the handset, installation in Sydney, training and a 36-month service agreement. Designed specifically for Australian small to medium businesses up to 50 users. See how it fits in our full phone systems range →
Which BizTel bundle should I choose?
Most small businesses choose Standard ($40/user/month) — the mid-range bundle with a quality desk handset, call recording, music on hold and full softphone apps. Pick BYOD or Starter Soft-Line ($25) if you don't need a physical handset. Pick Pro ($50) or Ultra ($55) for executives and high call volume. Pick Wireless ($60) for warehouses or staff on the move.
How much does BizTel installation cost?
Sydney Metro installation is $199 for the first 2 hours plus $99/hour after. Outside Sydney Metro: $199 callout fee plus $0.95 per kilometre plus $99/hour on site. Most small business installations are completed in 2–4 hours. Remote installation is also available Australia-wide at no extra cost.
Does BizTel include the phone handset?
Yes, every BizTel bundle except BYOD and Starter Soft-Line includes the physical VoIP handset. BYOD lets you use your own SIP-compatible phone. Starter Soft-Line uses only softphone apps on iOS, Android, Windows and Mac.
Is BizTel a contract?
Yes, BizTel bundles run on a 36-month service agreement. This is what enables the low per-user pricing, included handsets and free installation in many cases. After 36 months your service continues month-to-month.
Can I add Messages on Hold or extra services to BizTel?
Yes. Any BizTel bundle can be combined with professional Messages on Hold programmes, additional SIP phone lines, video conference systems for boardrooms, or hospitality-specific phones for hotel rooms. All add-ons are billed alongside your bundle.
How is BizTel different from iPECS Cloud?
Both run on the same underlying Ericsson-LG iPECS platform. BizTel is the small-business, pre-packaged version with fixed bundles and Sydney-focused installation. iPECS Cloud is the unbundled, fully customisable version for larger or multi-location businesses (5 to 1000+ users) where you specify exactly what you need.
How long does BizTel take to set up?
BizTel is typically live within 3–7 business days from sign-off — that includes provisioning your phone numbers, configuring the platform, shipping handsets and on-site installation. Number porting from an existing provider adds 5–15 business days but happens in parallel so your old phones keep working until cutover.
