Quick answers about residential NBN plans.
What are Comstel residential NBN plans?
Comstel offers 15 residential NBN plans across five categories: Home Fast (entry-level, 25 to 100 Mbps from $59/mo), Home Superfast and Ultrafast (250 to 1000 Mbps with full upload from $109/mo), Value Speed Plans (alternative high-speed tiers with slower upload from $99/mo), Hyperfast (2 Gbps from $189/mo), and Fixed Wireless (for premises without fixed-line NBN coverage from $99/mo).
Which residential NBN plan is right for my household?
As a guide: a single user with light browsing suits Home Fast 25/10 from $59/mo. A small household with HD streaming suits Home Fast 50/20 from $79/mo. A family with multiple devices and 4K streaming suits Home Fast 100/40 from $99/mo. Heavy users with simultaneous gaming, work-from-home and 4K streaming suit Home Superfast 250/100 from $109/mo. Power users wanting gigabit speeds suit Home Ultrafast 1000/400 from $189/mo.
What is Fixed Wireless NBN?
Fixed Wireless NBN delivers internet via an antenna installed at your premises connecting to a nearby NBN Co wireless tower, rather than through a physical cable. It's the right choice for households in regional and rural areas where fixed-line NBN (FTTP, HFC, FTTC, FTTN, FTTB) is not available. Comstel offers Fixed Wireless plans at three speed tiers: 100/20, 250/20 and 400/40 Mbps.
What's the difference between full-upload and Value Speed Plans?
Standard Superfast and Ultrafast plans deliver matched upload speeds (250/100, 500/200, 1000/400 Mbps). Value Speed Plans deliver high download speeds with a slower 50 Mbps upload (500/50, 750/50, 1000/50 Mbps), at a lower monthly price. Value plans are right for households focused on streaming, gaming and downloads where high upload speeds aren't critical.
What NBN technology types are supported?
Comstel residential NBN plans run on every NBN Co fixed-line technology: FTTP (Fibre to the Premises), HFC (Hybrid Fibre Coaxial), FTTC (Fibre to the Curb), FTTN (Fibre to the Node) and FTTB (Fibre to the Building). Higher speed tiers require fibre-based technologies (FTTP or HFC). Fixed Wireless is available for premises outside fixed-line coverage.
