About Kyocera

The brand known for lowest cost per page.

Kyocera Document Solutions is part of the global Kyocera Corporation — a Japanese technology company with deep engineering heritage. The Australian arm, Kyocera Document Solutions Australia, has been delivering printers, multifunction devices and document workflow solutions to local businesses for decades.

What sets Kyocera apart is the ECOSYS® technology — long-life imaging components that don't need replacing on every toner cycle. The result is fewer consumables, less waste, and a significantly lower cost per page than most competitors over the device's lifetime.

From compact A4 ECOSYS units for small offices, through TASKalfa A3 multifunction devices for workgroups, up to the award-winning TASKalfa Pro production printing range — Kyocera covers every business print need.

We'll recommend the right Kyocera for your actual usage. If an ECOSYS A4 unit fits your needs, we won't try to upsell you to a TASKalfa A3.

Who It Suits

Kyocera is the right pick when cost-per-page matters.

Six environments where Kyocera consistently outperforms alternatives over the device's lifetime.

Professional Services

Law, accounting, consulting

High mono volume, occasional colour, frequent confidential documents. ECOSYS or TASKalfa with secure print release fits the model perfectly.

Healthcare & Medical

Practices, clinics, allied health

Daily form printing, patient documents, occasional scanning of patient records. Reliable A4 ECOSYS or small TASKalfa MFP suits most clinics.

Education & Training

Schools, RTOs, training centres

High-volume course materials and student handouts. Long-life ECOSYS components and TASKalfa Pro production units cut consumables cost significantly.

Architecture & Engineering

Design firms, consultancies

Regular A3 plans, drawings, and presentation material. TASKalfa A3 colour MFPs handle the larger format jobs alongside everyday print.

Multi-Site Enterprise

Branch networks & retail chains

Standardised fleet across locations, centrally monitored via Kyocera Fleet Services. One brand, one supplier (Comstel), predictable per-site running costs.

Sustainability-Focused Orgs

Government, NFP, ESG-aware business

ECOSYS technology was designed around minimising waste and consumables. Aligns naturally with sustainability targets and environmental reporting.

Common Questions

Quick answers about Kyocera with Comstel.

What's the difference between ECOSYS and TASKalfa?
ECOSYS is the A4-only range — compact, lower-cost, lowest cost per page in the industry. TASKalfa is the A3 multifunction range — bigger paper sizes, more features, more finishing options, suitable for office workgroups. A common Comstel setup mixes both: ECOSYS units at desks for everyday print, a TASKalfa A3 MFP for the central office.
What makes Kyocera "low cost per page"?
Kyocera's ECOSYS technology uses long-life imaging components (drums, developers) rated for hundreds of thousands of pages. On most competing printers, the drum is part of the toner cartridge and gets replaced every cycle. With ECOSYS, only the toner gets replaced — fewer consumables, less plastic waste, and significantly lower lifetime running cost.
Does Kyocera work with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace?
Yes. Kyocera devices integrate with both Microsoft 365 (scan-to-OneDrive, scan-to-Outlook, secure print release via Azure AD) and Google Workspace (scan-to-Drive, scan-to-Gmail). Comstel handles the configuration during install.
What about secure print release for confidential documents?
All current TASKalfa MFPs support secure print release via PIN code or ID card. A document only prints when the user authorises release at the device — preventing confidential material (financial reports, patient records, contracts) from sitting in an output tray. Comstel sets this up during installation.
Can I monitor my Kyocera fleet centrally?
Yes — via Kyocera Fleet Services (KFS). Comstel can configure KFS for your devices to enable remote monitoring of toner levels, usage by user or department, error alerts, and proactive maintenance scheduling. Particularly valuable for multi-site organisations or any business managing more than 3-4 devices.
Do you service Kyocera devices we already own?
In most cases, yes. Send Comstel the make, model, and serial number of your existing Kyocera devices and we'll confirm whether we can take over service contracts and supplies. Contact us to discuss.
How do I get a Kyocera quote?
Call 1300 070 747 or email sales@comstel.com.au. Tell us: how many users, typical monthly volumes (mono vs colour), paper sizes (A4 only or A3 too), finishing needs (stapling, hole-punching, booklet), and your location. We'll recommend the right Kyocera model and provide a tailored quote.
